Head of Product & Solution Marketing
Who We Are
Lightning AI is the company behind PyTorch Lightning. Founded in 2019, we build an end-to-end platform for developing, training, and deploying AI systems—designed to take ideas from research to production with less friction.
Through our merger with Voltage Park, a neocloud and AI Factory, Lightning AI combines developer-first software with cost-efficient, large-scale compute. Teams get the tools they need for experimentation, training, and production inference, with security, observability, and control built in.
We serve solo researchers, startups, and large enterprises. Lightning AI operates globally with offices in New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, and London, and is backed by Coatue, Index Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, and Firstminute.
The Way We Work
The people who thrive here are builders who move fast, communicate openly, take ownership, and continuously improve themselves, their teams, and our company. Here's what that looks like in practice:
- Move with Urgency: We move quickly, make thoughtful decisions, and keep momentum. We value action over perfection and learn by shipping.
- Take Ownership: We own outcomes, not just our individual work. We make decisions that move the company forward and follow through.
- Communicate Openly: We communicate directly, seek to understand, and create clarity for others. Honest conversations help us move faster together.
- Build Great Teams: We lead by example, empower others, and create healthy teams where people can do their best work.
- Raise the Bar: We're always improving ourselves. We learn from feedback, consistently challenge ourselves to grow, and focus on the work that matters most.
- Think Long-Term: We design for what's next. We create scalable systems, simplify complexity, and use AI and automation to amplify our impact.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a Global leader of Product & Solutions Marketing to build and scale how we take our products to market and curate the customer AI journey on Lightning. This strategic leadership role will lead the product marketing function from narrative and positioning, to launches, sales activation, customer storytelling, market insights, and competitive intelligence. This is a marketing leadership role reporting to the CMO. While we prefer local candidates to our SF or NYC office, we are open to remote US candidates for this role.
What You’ll Do
- Own the strategic narrative and positioning. Craft clear, differentiated messaging and positioning across the platform, products, and competitive landscape aligned to our vision and business strategy. Create and maintain messaging architecture and assets for GTM and marketing teams to leverage across activities and channels.
- Define key solutions and use cases by customer segment, industry, or persona that advance customers along the buyer's journey from education to adoption at scale.
- Be the subject matter expert by developing a deep product and technical fluency of our products and understanding of market trends and their implications to our product strategy and go-to-market. Conduct deep market research, customer analysis, and competitive tracking to identify industry trends, market gaps, and strategic opportunities.
- Be the customer champion and build a deep understanding of their pain points, buying journey, and decision making to bridge their experiences into the company narrative and product value proposition. Drive customer insights, win/loss analysis, and research to improve positioning and messaging. Build strong relationships with customers to craft compelling case studies, testimonials, and usage stories showcasing ROI and success.
- Lead go-to-market planning and execution for major product launches, feature updates, partnerships, and strategic solutions campaigns to drive adoption and growth.
- Develop and deliver content and tools to activate sales and customer facing teams including high-impact collateral, pitch decks, battlecards, product demos, and training to accelerate deal velocity.
- Cross-Functional Leadership with Product Management, Engineering, Revenue Teams, and within Marketing to align strategy and roadmap to narrative and execution in the market.
- Represent Lightning AI at key industry events, webinars, briefings, and partner functions to elevate brand awareness and authority in AI.
- Establish experimentation and AI-native automation as core operating principles and develop testing frameworks across messages, offers, website experiences, and conversion paths.
- Hire, coach, and scale a team of high performing and curious product marketers, fostering a culture of creativity, ownership, and continuous learning.
What You’ll Need
- 12+ years of Technical Product Marketing experience in B2B enterprise software, Infrastructure, or Developer Tools with a proven record of creating differentiated positioning and driving measurable business impact.
- Strong technical grounding and deep familiarity with the modern AI ecosystem, developer workflows, machine learning frameworks, and GPU cloud infrastructure.
- Strong strategic thinking paired with executional excellence: you can shape a vision and roll up your sleeves to make it happen. Ability to synthesize complex market inputs, user feedback, and business metrics to make data-driven decisions and prioritize resources effectively.
- A customer-first mindset and passion for creating market-defining stories that inspire and sell.
- Proven history of planning and launching multi-product portfolios, leading to measurable pipeline growth and customer adoption.
- Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with GTM, Product, and Marketing leaders, building deep and durable relationships that align strategies and outcomes.
- A testing mindset and the operating discipline to turn learnings into repeatable programs, systems, and investment decisions.
- Exceptional written, oral, and visual communication skills, with a track record of translating complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for technical and business audiences. Experienced public speaker.
- Strong business acumen and executive presence. Earns trust and builds credibility with strong communication skills and cross-functional leadership. Can hold a strong point of view and be comfortable making hard calls.
