We’re looking for a Senior Quality Specialist to join our Hospitality team in Sydney. You will play a key role in building and solidifying our product testing, acceptance testing and test case design strategies, as well as coordinating defect management as part of the wider Lightspeed product team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Take an active role in an agile team working directly with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Quality Test Developers and UX Designers
- Assist with ongoing documentation of test cases and supporting reference material
- Ability to derive test scenarios from the requirements and User Story
- Perform exploratory, sanity and regression testing
- Understand and adapt tests to address networking hardware in consumer and commercial environments
- Quickly understand and become an expert on hardware such as payment devices, printers, scanners and other POS-related software/products developed by Lightspeed Commerce
- Identify issues via various troubleshooting techniques and monitoring tools
- Clearly explain software defects through a defect tracking system and interaction with software engineers
- Identify and prioritize business workflows for automation, and develop and maintain automated test scripts
- Collaborate with the QA team to develop and implement best practices for test automation and continuous integration
- Proactively suggest improvements to the agile QA processes across the entire application
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior QA team members, fostering their growth and development
- Share knowledge and expertise with the QA team, promoting a collaborative and learning-oriented environment
- Provide critical external and internal feedback to software engineers, UX designers and Product Managers to improve new features and capabilities within the product
What you need to bring:
We're looking for an experienced candidate who has experience with the following:
- Extensive QA/Software Testing experience
- Experience testing high-availability web applications in development, staging and production environments
- Experience testing web applications across multiple devices (tablet, mobile, desktop), operating systems (iOS, Android), and hardware device testing (printers, payment terminals)
- Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts for web and mobile applications
- Experience with JIRA or other defect management systems
- Experience with GitHub or other software versioning control systems
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience with APIs (REST, GraphQL) and SQL
- Accustomed to working in an Apple products environment (iOS, iPad OS, MacOS etc.)
