Financial Analyst

Lightspeed is seeking a full-time Financial Analyst to join our Finance team, as part of our Revenue and Corporate reporting team. As a key member in identifying our financial strategies, you will be challenged to locate, interpret, and communicate risks and opportunities in our financial reports and appropriately forecast. The ideal candidate is one who is fascinated by modelling software business financials and discovering the trends that position Lightspeed as the leading market competitor.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Conduct internal facing forecasting conversations with various business unit leaders and leverage these insights to enhance business forecasts
  • Interpret large amounts of financial data that provide insight to the business through scalable and repeatable reports
  • Perform budget to actual analysis for global revenue performance and other financial metrics
  • Conduct and support financial reporting deliverables such as Month End/Quarter End Reports and Board Deck material.
  • Deep dive on areas of the business that signal risk or opportunity through your financial findings
  • Collaborate with other members of the team on various projects to ensure good quality data being used.

What you’ll be bringing to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or any other related fields
  • 1-3 years experience in a Financial Analyst, Business Analyst or Statistician role
  • Advanced MS-Excel knowledge
  • Experience with Financial Statements

Even better if you have, but not necessary:

  • Experience working with Salesforce and Looker
  • Financial exposure in a SaaS environment 
  • Ability to multitask and to work in a fast-paced office environment
  • Experience working within a FinTech environment
  • Knowledge of BigQuery 
  • Interest in technology
