Lightspeed is looking for a senior content writer, native in British English, to be the voice of Lightspeed Restaurant for the UK and European markets. As a key member of Lightspeed’s dynamic in-house content team, you’ll lead the creation of high-quality, English-first content across a range of channels and formats. You’ll support the hospitality marketing team with campaign ideation and execution, editorial planning, and strategic content that can be adapted across EMEA. Your work will have a direct impact on brand visibility and positioning Lightspeed as the leading platform for restaurants.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Owning the concepting and development of high-quality, English-first content for brand and seasonal campaigns, PR, product launches, bylines, and event and sales materials—crafted and designed to be adapted across all EMEA regions.
- Reviewing press releases and writing bylines and thought leadership pieces, while identifying opportunities to extend their impact through additional content formats and channels—in close collaboration with the PR agency.
- Driving the social media calendar for the EMEA region, ensuring local initiatives are surfaced and scaled across markets, while analyzing performance metrics to optimize reach and engagement across the region.
- Creating standout content for the UK market, including customer stories and video scripts, sales enablement materials, event assets, and strategic partnership content, while also proofreading UK copy to ensure quality and consistency.
- Creating and managing website content with a focus on SEO—ensuring consistency with brand voice and style, while optimizing for search visibility and user experience.
- Monitoring and analyzing content performance across key channels, and making data-driven recommendations to improve engagement and impact.
- Working closely with content team members to maintain a unified brand voice and style across all platforms.
- Developing a good knowledge of our key products, customers and businesses, and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Staying up to date on hospitality industry news and trends.
You’ll bring to the team:
- Native-level proficiency in British English, with exceptional storytelling, editing, and conceptual thinking skills.
- 6+ years of experience in SaaS marketing, journalism, or branded content roles.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to craft and execute engaging social media content and campaigns, with a track record of growing audiences and driving measurable engagement across platforms.
- Demonstrated experience creating content that supports brand and communication objectives, including earned media, PR or marketing campaigns.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to align content to business goals and regional market needs.
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to work across teams and time zones, while independently driving high-priority projects to completion.
- Familiarity with content management systems like Wordpress and Hootsuite
Even better if you have, but not necessary:
- You have a strong affinity with the hospitality sector.
- Experience leveraging AI or machine learning for content.
