Weâre looking for a passionate and driven Marketing and Community Manager to spearhead the growth of our brand in New Zealand! In this pivotal role, youâll lead connections across the technology ecosystem along with industry groups in retail and hospitality. This role is a newly created opportunity to re-ignite our employer brand, and position us as a market leader. Youâll be the voice of our brandâsparking conversations, building authentic connections through bold and creative community initiatives. This is a full-time, 6 month fixed term contract based from our Auckland office in Newmarket reporting directly to our Managing Director, Nicole Buisson.
The ideal candidate for this role has exceptional storytelling skills, a strong grasp of content marketing and social media trends, and an established network within New Zealandâs tech ecosystem. You bring a strategic, results-driven mindset, with proven success in delivering impactful events, boosting brand awareness, driving community engagement, and demonstrating clear ROI from your initiatives.
What youâll be doing:
- Develop and execute community engagement strategies across forums, social media, events, and webinars
- Represent Lightspeed at key retail, hospitality, and tech events, while securing speaking opportunities for company leaders
- Build strong relationships with industry associations, influencers, thought leaders, and power users
- Lead flagship initiatives like the APAC EDGE event in Auckland, internal un-conferences, and innovation workshops to drive brand energy and community culture
- Create and deliver a tailored content and social media strategy for the New Zealand market, producing blogs, case studies, videos, and more
- Strengthen Lightspeedâs brand presence and employer reputation through consistent, impactful storytelling
- Support PR efforts by collaborating with regional and global teams, building relationships with media, and amplifying coverage in New Zealand
What you need to bring:
- Extensive experience in marketing, community and brand management
- Deep knowledge of New Zealand technology ecosystem and an existing network
- Proven track record of building and growing brand presence in competitive tech environments
- Hands-on experience planning and executing events, from intimate meet-ups to large-scale conferences
