Senior SRE - Data

Data is the new Gold!!! We are here to help our data teams build and maintain the data and AI infrastructure platform and the governance framework needed to ensure data flows everywhere at Lightspeed. Data security, reliability, and high availability are our mojo.

Please note: As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.

Role:

• Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional data teams to craft and deploy cloud infrastructure solutions that are not just scalable and reliable but also fortified with robust security measures and optimized for cost-efficiency.
• Champion a holistic approach to security, covering all facets from infrastructure and supply chain to seamless integration with third-party systems, safeguarding the entire data ecosystem.
• Play a pivotal role in advancing the evolution of self-service workflows for data and infrastructure, empowering teams to efficiently access and utilize resources, thereby fostering agility and productivity.
• Exemplify and advocate the highest standards of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ensuring that High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Security are at the forefront of all infrastructure design and deployment endeavors.

• Participate in the day-to-day support and troubleshooting
• Contribute as part of the wider team to achieve organizational objectives even if this means doing things that aren’t strictly within the scope of your role.

Experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical expertise serves as a foundational knowledge base.
• Demonstrated proficiency in effectively overseeing production environments.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, showcasing a deep understanding of its intricacies.
• Proven expertise in orchestrating and managing infrastructure through code, streamlining operations and promoting automation.
• Implemented and Managed CI/CD pipelines to streamline software development processes.

Skills:

• Security is paramount in every decision.
• Proficient in Bash, Golang..
• IAC expertise with Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Familiarity with GCP Data and Security Components
• Familiarity with IAM best practices. 
• Mastery in Linux/Unix and networking.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, MySQL, and PgSQL.
• Knowledge of Github Actions and CI/CD.
• Strong problem-solving, adaptability, and accountability.
• Eager to learn and embrace challenges.
