Senior Data Analyst (Product)
Purpose of the role:
Facilitate teams across the company to make informed decisions based on data, rather than on intuition. Lead complex analytical projects with multi-level dependencies, diverse stakeholder base and unclear paths to solution.
Please note: As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.
Role:
- Lead the process of gathering requirements and translating complex business problems into structured, scalable quantitative analyses.
- Partner with functional departments to extract strategic insights from analytical outputs, shape high-impact business recommendations, and deliver them through compelling narratives and comprehensive visualizations.
- Guide collaboration with stakeholders and team members to design accurate, scalable, and business-relevant datasets, reports, dashboards, and analyses for both operational and strategic initiatives.
- Design robust data models using techniques such as Kimball/dimensional data modelling.
- Oversee and optimize data reconciliation/manipulation processes, proactively identifying opportunities for automation, data quality improvement, and integrity/consistency checks.
- Champion data governance by embedding best practices into workflows and mentoring stakeholders on discovering, accessing, and effectively leveraging data assets.
- Play a key role in advancing internal event tracking and A/B testing systems through continuous improvement and innovation.
- Develop predictive and classification models to support strategic initiatives across Product, Customer Success, and Marketing domains.
- Mentor junior colleagues on best practices in analytical research, dashboard development, and data storytelling to ensure high-quality, impactful outputs.
- Report to the Senior Manager, BI & Analytics.

- Stay up to date with developments, innovations, and trends in data, including state-of-the-art machine learning models and large language models (LLMs).
- Contributing as part of the wider team to achieve organizational objectives, even if this means doing things that aren’t strictly within the scope of your role.

- You lead cross-functional collaboration by identifying key contacts across departments and facilitating knowledge sharing to deepen subject matter understanding.
- You have expert-level knowledge of data sources across domains (e.g., Product, Marketing) and subdomains (e.g., Product → Storefront), and can guide others in selecting, interpreting, and applying the most relevant data and metrics.
Experience needed:
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role within analytics, business intelligence, or data science, with a track record of driving measurable business impact.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to independently translate complex business needs into robust data requirements and actionable insights.
- Advanced proficiency with Python and SQL.
- Advanced proficiency with Kimball/dimensional data modelling.
- Advanced proficiency with Looker and the use of LookML to design Explores and dashboards.
- Familiarity with other modern BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI, with a focus on designing scalable and intuitive dashboards.
- Deep understanding of probability theory, statistical inference, and experimental design, including hands-on experience designing, running, and interpreting A/B tests.
- Solid foundation in mathematics, including combinatorics, calculus, and mathematical logic.
- Proven ability to communicate findings and recommendations effectively using MS Excel and PowerPoint for diverse audiences.
- Practical experience with event tracking systems and user behaviour analytics tools.
- Applied experience with machine learning models for classification, regression, or clustering, preferably in product, marketing, or customer analytics contexts.
- Experience in the e-commerce domain is a strong plus.
