The Opportunity

The Market Development Director is a key role within our organisation, responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to drive long term commercial growth, meet the performance objectives and align new and future work within the overall aims of Landmark Information Group (LIG) and Landmark Solutions.  This role ensures that the entire customer lifecycle is strategically assessed while meeting LIG’s objectives via marketplace insights and alignment of LIG metrics.  

This is a dynamic position which can have significant impact on the growth and success of the organisation.

The role is that of a “Rainmaker”, to build new markets, opportunities, engagements for the Sales team by generating marketplace presence, awareness of the LIG capabilities to increase the sales funnel size.  It is also a “Voice of the Marketplace”, whereby reflecting our key messages, capabilities and future requirements into the sales funnel as well as towards Product Management.  To address our strategic direction within the client engagement life cycle and meet the overall strategic objectives we see with our clients today and tomorrow.

This role will also require you to work with internal partners on how opportunities can impact other brands in LIG and where existing relationships with key third parties may be utilised to build marketplace presence/impact in the attraction of LIG to current and future clients.

About You

The Market Development Director role requires a combination of leadership/teamwork, strategic thinking and analytical skills to design and execute approved marketplace strategies that align with the company’s goals and capabilities (today and future). It is essential for the role to apply market and competitive knowledge as part of the sales plan, win themes and long-term object of each client engagement by focusing our longer-term strategy and targeting our customer base.

You will also have/be:

  • Industry recognised qualifications and/or relevant degree
  • Experience in a senior leadership role
  • Strong experience in a relevant sales/bid role
  • Excellent negotiation skills, able to strengthen the bid through all customer engagements
  • A strong communicator, both verbal and written, able to provide clear understanding around complex matters
  • Demonstrable ability for root cause investigation and determination
  • An analytical thinker with the ability to analyse market trends/client needs and competitor strategies to develop effective bid strategies
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • The ability to apply both market awareness and commercial acumen to determine the win theme for the accounts and drive/support sales engagements.
  • The ability to be innovative when scanning the horizon for new opportunities. Solutions has the ability to work across many markets so developing an awareness of opportunities and market gaps will be essential to our success.
