Product Strategy Intern, Chemistry
Your Impact at Lila
As a Product Strategy Intern on Lila's Chemistry team, you'll be at the forefront of commercializing AI-driven innovation across diverse chemistry applications spanning industrial, specialty chemical, and life science domains. You'll partner with Product and Commercial leaders to define market strategies, evaluate business opportunities, and support go-to-market efforts. This role is ideal for a technical MBA student eager to shape the future of innovation by translating cutting-edge chemistry into commercial impact.
What You'll Be Building
- Support product and go-to-market strategy development for chemistry platforms spanning industrial, specialty chemical, and life science applications (e.g., catalysts, coatings, functional additives, specialized formulations, biomolecules, therapeutics), with flexibility to contribute across domains based on business priorities
- Conduct market research and opportunity assessment to inform product roadmap prioritization and commercial strategy decisions
- Develop strategic materials including presentation decks, one-pagers, and frameworks (e.g., Target Product Profiles) that communicate technical capabilities and customer value
- Build and maintain structured databases and information systems to support product pipeline management and strategic decision-making
- Synthesize insights from customer discovery interviews and expert conversations to inform chemistry product strategy, positioning, and prioritization
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Currently pursuing an MBA, Ph.D., or equivalent graduate degree
- Excellent analytical thinking and ability to synthesize complex information
- Strong slide development and presentation skills with attention to visual clarity
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Ability to quickly understand scientific concepts in chemistry and convey them clearly to commercial stakeholders
Bonus Points For
- Background in chemistry, organic small molecules, or related physical/life sciences
- Experience with market research, strategy consulting, or product management in technical industries
- Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Notion, or similar platforms
- Understanding of chemistry applications across industrial and life science markets (e.g., specialty chemicals, formulations, catalysis, therapeutics)
- Prior experience in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, advanced materials, or deep tech environments
