Research Product Designer

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Research Product Designer to join a cross-functional team focused on the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality (XR) interaction. In this role, you will explore new input technologies and design compelling experiences that help make cutting-edge XR innovations intuitive and accessible. Your design work will help inform future product directions through hands-on prototyping, user research, and collaboration with engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Apply human-centered design to translate broad technical requirements into user-friendly experiences

• Design end-to-end user flows and interactions for mobile and cross-platform devices based on real use cases

• Build visual designs and contribute to prototypes and research studies

• Collaborate with design, research, product, and engineering teams to support strategic decisions

• Translate new input technologies into clear, usable UI patterns

• Improve existing experiences with a focus on converting white-glove processes into self-service solutions

• Create consistent and scalable designs across mobile and laptop platforms

Required Qualifications:

• Experience designing for new and emerging technologies, including prototype hardware

• Strong background in mobile UX and cross-platform design

• Familiar with managing user training, gathering feedback, and iterating on designs

• Ability to clearly communicate design ideas and decisions to cross-functional teams

• Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in Figma

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience visualizing complex data and making it easy to understand

• Familiarity with machine learning workflows and model behavior

• Experience with 3D environments such as Unity

Location: New York - Onsite - 3 days per week

Role type: Contract 3 Month Position

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday (Extended schedule as needed Saturday-Sunday)
