Summary

Our Content Design team is seeking a seasoned Content Design professional to lead strategy and content development for the Avatars editor experience, enabling users to create and customize their avatars seamlessly across both headsets and mobile platforms.

The Avatars & Identity team is responsible for building the organization’s Avatar system, enabling users to embrace, explore, and express themselves across various social apps. Our team collaborates closely with cross-functional partners to expand representation and modes of expression, ensuring avatar creation and customization is intuitive, engaging, and accessible across platforms.

You will work with Product Design, User Research, Art, Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, and other teams to create best-in-class experiences while advocating for user needs and content design best practices.

  • Are passionate about content design craft, including standards, terminology, design systems, tone, and voice.
  • Are comfortable making decisions amid ambiguity, using available insights to guide strategy.
  • Have experience with two-sided marketplaces or gaming UX.
  • Can accommodate working across various time zones (EST, LON).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, Design, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in UX writing.
  • Examples of wireframes or design mocks co-authored using design tools, demonstrating their impact on decision-making within a team.
  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex ideas to broad audiences in an engaging manner.
  • Familiarity with tools for managing and scaling content updates.
  • Proven experience in design systems and systems thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently, managing ambiguity effectively.

Location: Remote (East Coast)

Role type: Contract 8 Month Position 

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday (Extended schedule as needed Saturday-Sunday)
