Audio Project Manager II

The Research Team brings together world-class researchers, developers, and engineers to shape the future of virtual and augmented reality—technologies poised to become as universal and essential as smartphones and personal computers. Much like personal computers revolutionized the way we work, play, and connect over the past 45 years, AR and VR will transform every aspect of human interaction.
We are pioneering the technologies required to enable breakthrough AR glasses and VR headsets, encompassing optics and displays, computer vision, audio, graphics, brain-computer interfaces, haptic interaction, eye/hand/face/body tracking, perception science, and true telepresence.
Within this framework, the Audio Team is dedicated to two primary objectives:
- Creating virtual sounds indistinguishable from reality
- Redefining human hearing capabilities
These initiatives will enable deeper human connections by allowing individuals to feel present together despite physical distance and engage in seamless conversations even in challenging auditory environments.
We are seeking a Project Manager to help drive an ambitious research initiative aimed at developing technologies that enhance human capabilities and enable effortless communication in acoustically complex environments.
Candidates should have proven project management experience in scientific research or technology development, with familiarity in at least one of the following research domains:
- Audio signal processing
- Machine learning and computer vision
- Hearing sciences
- Product development (hardware & software integration)
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee designated projects and provide strategic direction and operational support.
- Manage project goals and timelines, ensuring alignment with research objectives.
- Develop and maintain project documentation.
- Coordinate technology development efforts across multiple teams.
- Assign and track tasks to ensure project milestones are met.
- Monitor challenges, facilitate resolutions, and implement course corrections as needed.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, dependencies, and risks to stakeholders.
- Take detailed meeting notes that capture key decisions and actionable items.
- Develop Request for Proposal (RFP) and Statement of Work (SOW) documents.
- Demonstrate a hands-on approach, taking on operational tasks to support the team’s goals.
- Conduct on-site field work as needed and report to the Technical Program Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, engineering, management, or business.
- Proven experience in project management, with a track record of successful project completion.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with team members and stakeholders across the organization.
- Experience working in fast-paced research and/or product development environments.
Location: Redmond, Washington (Onsite)
Role type: Contract 12 Month Position
Expected hours: 40 per week

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday (Extended schedule as needed Saturday-Sunday)
