Taxonomy Specialist - Metadata & Knowledge Organization
Summary:
About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Taxonomy Specialist to oversee taxonomy governance, metadata strategy, and content classification within our Recruiting domain. This role involves maintaining structured taxonomy workflows, ensuring metadata accuracy, and supporting knowledge management systems to enhance content delivery and information accessibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee taxonomy governance, including reviews, assessments, and updates to maintain consistency and relevancy.
- Define strategies and approaches for content tag audits and assessments.
- Conduct content audits and reviews to ensure proper taxonomy tag use, quality, and consistency.
- Gather and analyze feedback to identify evolving taxonomy needs.
- Provide recommendations for taxonomy and tag tooling enhancements.
- Offer insights on metadata strategy and improvements for taxonomy-based content delivery.
Requirements
- Experience with taxonomy governance, implementation, and workflows.
- Expertise in knowledge organization systems, such as taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and thesauri.
- Familiarity with structured metadata for knowledge management and cataloging.
- Proven ability to support complex taxonomies for effective information delivery.
- Strong communication skills for advocating metadata importance in knowledge management and content delivery.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) or knowledge management systems.
- Bachelor's degree in information science, library science, information technology, or a related field.
- Knowledge of SKOS, OWL, MARC, or other cataloging standards.
- Familiarity with taxonomy tools and modeling, along with working knowledge of ontologies and knowledge graphs.
- Experience in Recruiting or related HR topics.
Deliverables
- A Recruiting-specific taxonomy structure with relevant categories and sub-categories.
- Defined metadata fields and attributes aligned with Recruiting taxonomy categories.
- A schema framework that enables content tagging by type, subject, and other attributes.
- Properly tagged and classified content components following the established taxonomy.
- A comprehensive taxonomy governance framework aligned with a holistic taxonomy strategy.

Role type: Contract 6 Month Position
Expected hours: 40 per week

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday (Extended schedule as needed Saturday-Sunday)
