UX Production Designer

Summary:

The Production Designer plays a critical role in scaling and accelerating Product Design by providing support across key areas, including asset production, design systems, and Figma best practices. This role ensures design consistency, efficiency, and quality, collaborating closely with designers, developers, and stakeholders to enhance user experience and meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Production

  • Create and maintain product UI assets for marketing and communications.

  • Develop and implement design solutions that align with business goals and user needs.

  • Collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure consistency and quality.

Design Systems

  • Build and maintain design system libraries, including components, layouts, and templates.

  • Manage system variables, primitives, icon assets, and other design elements.

  • Coordinate with central systems like XMDS to address key areas of collaboration or tension.

  • Publish and maintain design system documentation on Dim Sum.

  • Conduct surface audits to ensure consistency and quality across designs.

Figma Best Practices

  • Develop and maintain templates, file structures, and organization systems in Figma.

  • Utilize Figma features and plugins to enhance design efficiency and quality.

General Support

  • Provide case-by-case design support, guidance, and consultation.

  • Direct designers to relevant resources or alternative support channels when applicable.

  • Participate in design critiques, offering constructive feedback to designers.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a UX designer or production designer.

  • Advanced Figma skills, including best practices for file organization and efficiency.

  • Expertise in asset creation, including knowledge of file formats, asset sizing, and pixel density.

  • Strong automation mindset, optimizing workflows for efficiency.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to design quality.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with front-end development and coding languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

  • Familiarity with motion design and prototyping.

Location: United States (Remote)

Role type: Contract 6 Month Position 

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday (Extended schedule as needed Saturday-Sunday)
