The Content Specialist plays a key role in writing, reviewing, and editing content for social platforms, often addressing nuanced and sensitive topics. This role requires exceptional editorial judgment, expert writing and editing skills, and the ability to surface meaningful insights from content analysis.

A Content Specialist is responsible for creating large collections of editorial content across various conversational contexts. This may include developing and prompting AI systems within an editorial framework. The role involves close collaboration with content, product, and engineering teams to absorb knowledge, define opportunities, and develop concepts that enhance content experiences—from pitching to prompting to refining.

We are seeking a strong conceptual thinker with creative writing and editing expertise, capable of adapting to diverse guidelines, managing production details, and thriving in a fast-paced corporate tech environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and review content for Meta platforms, ranging from creative copy to informative text.
  • Perform content analysis and generate reports with compelling, actionable insights for partner teams.
  • Apply editorial guidelines to content at scale, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with content and product teams to enhance user experience.
  • Maintain flexibility to work an extended schedule as required.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • 6+ years of experience in creative writing, screenwriting, copywriting, or editing and curating creative content.
  • Prior experience in prompt engineering, annotation, or managerial roles preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and a proven track record of editorial judgment on nuanced topics (politics, bias, gender, religion, etc.), ensuring quality control for large text datasets.
  • Familiarity with AP Style and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet applications (Google Sheets, MS Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of the social media and digital content landscapes, with experience using AI tools.
  • Background in visual media (photo editing, video production), as well as audio and video expertise.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Creative Writing or a related field.

Location: United States (Remote)

Role type: Contract 6 Month Position

Expected hours: 40 per week
