Technical Writer/Documentation Engineer
Summary
The Technical Writer plays a critical role in crafting clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for developers. This includes technical manuals, user guides, appendices, and maintenance instructions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and highly organized, with a talent for translating complex concepts into accessible content.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain both software and hardware documentation tailored for a developer audience.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and support teams to ensure technical accuracy and clarity.
- Draft, revise, and structure process and technical documentation for a range of audiences.
- Support the successful release and adoption of software by delivering timely documentation.
- Author content across multiple programming languages and development environments.
- Create and maintain example code, code snippets, and sample applications as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience producing technical documentation for an engineering or developer audience.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C++ or a similar language.
- Hands-on experience with markdown for content formatting.
- Ability to interpret, explain, and document example code in an accessible way.
- Familiarity with using source control systems to manage and publish content.
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science, English, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with VR/MR technology and development tools.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with minimal supervision.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional projects and meeting collaborative deadlines.
- Interest or experience in automating documentation workflows and processes.
Writing samples will be requested during the interview process.
Location: Remote - Must be located in EST
Role type: Contract 6 Months Position
Expected hours: 40 per week
