Technical Writer - Developer Documentation (VR Gaming)
Summary
We’re looking for an experienced and self-directed Technical Writer IV to produce high-quality documentation, code samples, and tutorials that empower creators to build immersive experiences in our online VR game. You’ll play a key role in helping developers succeed by delivering clear, actionable, and engaging content tailored to a technical audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain precise and engaging developer-facing documentation, including API references, user guides, and tutorials.
- Design and develop code samples and implementation examples showcasing best practices for building within a VR environment.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams—including engineering, product, and design—to ensure documentation reflects the latest platform capabilities.
- Conduct in-depth research and stakeholder interviews to gather content requirements and capture technical nuances.
- Independently manage multiple documentation projects from planning through delivery with minimal oversight.
- Continuously improve content quality based on feedback and evolving developer needs.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience writing technical documentation and code samples for a developer audience.
- Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Highly self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and escalate issues appropriately.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with 3D gaming or AR/VR platforms, particularly in a developer-focused writing capacity.
- Background working on documentation projects for large-scale platforms, preferably at companies like Meta or Google.
- Familiarity with media production workflows and instructional design techniques for creating interactive learning content.
At least 2 writing samples attached to resume, such as how-to tutorial sample and something more conceptual.

Location: Remote (PST preferred)
