UX Researcher - Quantified Wearability
Summary
The Quantified Wearability (QW) team is a dynamic applied research group that directly influences product innovation and strategic decision-making across the organization. We are seeking a user experience researcher to design and execute research studies for prototype technologies, working with cross-functional stakeholders to translate human insights into impactful product direction. This role requires a balance of research rigor, operational execution, and effective communication across engineering and product teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with researchers, designers, product managers, and engineers to scope and execute UX research initiatives that inform product development
- Navigate and submit research proposals through internal privacy and review protocols
- Adhere strictly to safety, privacy, and ethical guidelines when interacting with participants and handling sensitive data
- Independently and jointly develop long-term research roadmaps and execute studies throughout the product lifecycle
- Lead quantitative and qualitative data collection and perform original analysis using statistical tools
- Synthesize insights into compelling presentations and reports for cross-functional teams
- Coordinate with external research vendors to augment internal capabilities
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience designing and conducting both qualitative and quantitative UX studies
- Comfortable working directly with human subjects and applying rigorous methodology
- Advanced data fluency with strong analytical reasoning and hypothesis testing
- Clear and effective communication skills—both written and verbal—with attention to detail and storytelling
- Proven ability to manage time effectively, work autonomously, and prioritize in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Python, R, MATLAB; familiarity with SQL and large data infrastructures is a plus
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a human-centered field such as Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Information Science, Media Studies, Computer Science, or Economics
- 2+ years of experience as a UX researcher with a portfolio demonstrating successful execution of human subjects research and actionable data insights
- Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and communicating research findings to technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in a relevant behavioral or computational field listed above

Location: Burlingame, CA (Onsite)
Role type: Contract 6 Month Position
Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday (Extended schedule as needed Saturday-Sunday)
