Audio Research Project Manager IV

We are seeking an experienced Contract Project Manager to support research and development efforts in spatial audio capture. This role is part of a collaborative team that supports research scientists, software engineers, and PhD interns. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in research project management and familiarity with spatial audio, binaural audio, or audio signal processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage research and development projects aligned with defined delivery plans
  • Track progress, identify risks, resolve issues, and implement adjustments to ensure timely completion
  • Provide regular updates on project status, dependencies, and risks to internal teams and stakeholders
  • Maintain thorough documentation of project milestones, deliverables, and task completion
  • Oversee procurement processes for equipment and vendor services
  • Support operational needs by taking a hands-on approach to tasks that advance team goals

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven experience in research project management with a record of successful project execution
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a dynamic environment
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally across teams and departments
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, Audio Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in fast-paced research or product development environments
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C++, Max/MSP, or similar
  • Background in spatial audio, binaural audio, or audio signal processing
  • Experience supporting or conducting user experience studies

Location: Redmond, Washington (Onsite)

Role type: Contract 12+ Month Position 

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday (Extended schedule as needed Saturday-Sunday)
