Position Overview

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Technical Artist to serve as a vital bridge between artistic vision and engineering execution. This role is central to a multidisciplinary team focused on creating immersive, real-time experiences that showcase innovative technology use cases across research and product development. The ideal candidate combines creative problem-solving with deep technical expertise and thrives in dynamic, performance-constrained environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with engineering and design teams to develop interactive experiences across multiple devices.
  • Implement runtime logic within complex real-time environments, optimizing for performance and scalability.
  • Apply broad technical knowledge to support diverse artistic and engineering tasks, including debugging and issue resolution.
  • Rapidly address challenges in partnership with cross-functional leads.
  • Design, manage, and maintain artist workflow pipelines to ensure efficiency and consistency.
  • Prototype end-to-end real-time experiences, including environments and character interactions.
  • Foster a culture of constructive feedback, clearly communicate goals, and guide teams toward successful outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in Unity and real-time development.
  • Strong background in procedural effects and tooling.
  • Experience with gaussian splats, scene reconstruction, and object reconstruction.
  • 5+ years of experience building real-time interactive experiences.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least one of the following pipelines: Runtime Behaviors or Asset Pipeline.
  • Skilled in content creation tools such as Maya, Houdini, or Blender.
  • Proficiency in at least one low-level programming language.
  • Advanced experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce) and collaborative workflows.
  • History of successful collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing for VR, MR, and AR platforms.
  • Familiarity with emerging AI technologies and their creative applications.
  • Knowledge of game optimization techniques for real-time environments.

Location: United States (Remote, EST preferred)

Role type: Contract 4 Month Position - Portfolio Required

Expected hours: 40 per week
