Senior Project Manager - Finance Operations

Summary

The Project Manager III is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating complex, non‑IT projects across functions such as finance, engineering, research and development, product rollout, and other operational domains. This role requires strong end‑to‑end project leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast‑moving environment.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in project execution, stakeholder communication, risk management, and process optimization, with a strong understanding of finance‑related business functions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead and execute complex finance‑related projects and programs from initiation through completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans, define milestones, and coordinate the integration of activities across global cross‑functional teams.
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders to ensure clarity of objectives, timelines, and deliverables.

Project Documentation & Coordination

  • Own and maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring transparency and consistent communication across teams.
  • Establish clear project scopes, success metrics, and reporting structures.

Risk Management

  • Proactively identify risks and potential issues, implementing mitigation strategies to maintain timelines, budgets, and project objectives.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to resolve critical issues and remove blockers.

Process & Automation Support

  • Assess and refine underlying processes to ensure they support project goals.
  • Lead process mapping, documentation, and updates to improve operational efficiency.

Change Management

  • Identify change impacts and incorporate readiness, adoption, and communication plans into project workflows.
  • Oversee change‑related deliverables and collaborate with change management specialists when broader organizational impact is expected.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain strong communication channels with project teams, leadership, and business partners.
  • Provide regular status updates, escalate issues appropriately, and ensure alignment across all stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of project management experience (senior‑level preferred).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and navigate ambiguity.
  • Experience supporting finance organizations or working closely with finance stakeholders.
  • PMP, PMI, PMI‑CPMAI, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Nice‑to‑Have Skills

  • Experience partnering with engineering teams.
  • Background in transformation initiatives or large‑scale organizational change.

Role Expectations

  • Execute projects end‑to‑end with minimal oversight.
  • Work autonomously while maintaining strong cross‑functional alignment.
  • Adapt to shifting roadmaps, accelerated timelines, and large stakeholder groups.
  • Deliver high‑quality project outcomes in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

Location: Menlo Park, CA (Hybrid, 3x per week in office)

Role type: Contract 9 Month Position 

Expected hours: 40 per week

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday (Extended schedule as needed Saturday-Sunday)
