About the Role

We are seeking a Senior UX Researcher (Mixed Methods) to support a high‑impact product team focused on foundational user experience work. This role involves leading both qualitative and quantitative research initiatives, partnering closely with cross‑functional teams, and shaping product strategy through actionable insights. You will work alongside researchers, product managers, data scientists, designers, and engineers to guide decisions throughout the product development lifecycle.

This position requires strong methodological expertise, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced, evolving environment. Experience with AI‑native research tools and advanced quantitative methods is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with researchers, designers, product managers, and engineers to identify research needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Develop and execute research roadmaps, working independently and collaboratively.
  • Lead end‑to‑end qualitative and quantitative studies across all phases of the product development cycle.
  • Conduct usability testing, in‑depth interviews, diary studies, surveys, and other mixed‑methods research.
  • Analyze and synthesize findings into clear, compelling insights that inform product strategy and execution.
  • Contribute to go‑to‑market planning by providing user‑driven recommendations.
  • Utilize AI tools to enhance research efficiency, analysis, and reporting.
  • Manage multiple research initiatives simultaneously while adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Support competitive research initiatives, including large‑scale surveys and cognitive‑based question design.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to design, evaluate, and refine ability‑based tasks and foundational product experiences.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human‑Computer Interaction, Psychology, Social Science, Business, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in UX, product, or user research.
  • Expertise in mixed‑methods research, including qualitative (IDIs, usability, contextual inquiry) and quantitative (surveys, benchmarking, card sorting, tree testing) methodologies.
  • Strong proficiency with research tools such as UserTesting, UserZoom, Lookback, dscout, Optimal Workshop, and familiarity with design tools like Figma or Origami.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design, manage, and execute complex research studies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct advanced quantitative analysis and interpret statistical findings.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple projects, and adapt to evolving priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI‑driven or AI‑native research methodologies.
  • Ability to integrate AI tools into qualitative and quantitative workflows.
  • Experience running diary studies and other longitudinal research methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience with 1:1 qualitative moderation.
  • Ability to lead competitive surveys and manage outsourced research components.
  • Demonstrated versatility as a research generalist with strong quantitative depth.

  • Synthesizing findings and delivering reports
  • Leveraging AI tools to streamline research and reporting workflows

Performance Evaluation

Location: Remote (NYC or California)

Role type: Contract 5 Month Position 

Expected hours: 40 per week
