Junior Information Security Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Analyze information systems security compliance with respect to company information security policies
- Participate in creation of materials for information training by ad-hoc request. Ensure that we have an established process of creating a company wide security training knowledge base
- Represent Lineate in interactions with external information security counterparts
- Oversee how information is shared among departments and customers
- Ensure company and customer services are hosted securely
- Any software products used meet company standards and do not contain known vulnerabilities
- Software has up-to-date patches installed
- We conduct regularly scheduled penetration/vulnerability testing
- Company security policies are rigorous, published, and actively enforced
- Password policies, clean desk policies, anti-virus policies, etc.
Technical skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
- Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, or macOS)
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, common protocols like HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, etc.)
- Familiarity with VPNs and basic network configuration concepts (even if from labs or projects). Basic knowlwgde to scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) — comfortable reading and writing simple scripts
- Interest in Linux and willingness to learn to work confidently on the command line
- Understanding of basic software development or DevOps concepts is a plus
- Strong motivation to learn about cybersecurity tools, vulnerabilities, and best practices
- Good English skills (reading and writing at a pre-intermediate / intermediate level)
- 0–2 years of IT industry experience (internships, lab projects, or personal projects in security are welcome)
