Role Overview 

As a senior leader, the VP of Strategy, Insights and Analytics  is responsible for defining the overall data strategy at Liquid Death, leading a team of Insights professionals and identifying opportunities to leverage data to influence decision making, innovation and growth. This role requires a combination of strong leadership, technical expertise and strategic vision in a high growth, start up environment. This leader will elevate how Liquid Death utilizes data to understand the Liquid Death customer across a multi-category landscape and create compelling, data informed narratives to influence retail partners and consumers. 

 

Core Responsibilities

This is a cross functional role with responsibilities that span data strategy and architecture, marketing and sales insights and analytics as well as brand strategy. 

Data Intelligence

  • Own, build, and lead the enterprise data architecture and infrastructure strategy, ensuring Liquid Death has scalable and high-performing systems that support advanced analytics, AI/ML initiatives, and data-informed decision making across the organization.
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on implementation in the areas of data ingestion, data transformation/processing, data quality, data modeling, data visualization involving end to end data life cycle.
  • Help establish standard data practices and frameworks like data governance, data quality, data validation, data security, data privacy, monitoring and error management.

Insights & Analytics

  • Define the Liquid Death customer across multiple categories and SKUs and identify the most impactful key metrics i.e. household penetration, buy rate, frequency, etc. for each customer profile.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing leadership to analyze retailer, category and marketing performance as well as brand health in order to identify and predict opportunities for the brand and gaps in execution.

Strategy 

  • Leverage complex facts and data insights to craft compelling storylines and develop scalable internal resources highlighting each of Liquid Death category’s benefits for the retailer, shopper, and consumer across a multi-category portfolio.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders including Sales, Marketing and the Executive team  to ensure deep understanding of how insights and analytics are informing overall business strategy and long term planning.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor degree required in a related business field
  • A minimum of 5+ years in a management role responsible for developing and executing strategy across strategy, data insights and/or analytics
  • 10+ years of work experience in data insights and analytics, category management, market research, marketing strategy, ad agency and/or client-facing CPG experience, or equity capital markets experience (high growth start-up and/or beverage industry is a plus)
  • Expertise with analytics platforms and syndicated data sources including but not limited to: Circana / IRI, Neilsen, SPINS, Stackline, Retail Platforms (8451, Amazon), Numerator, and Vividly 
  • Experience with LDM, AI layers, and building data infrastructure; Proficiency in SQL and Python 
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable business strategies and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Up to 30% travel required (for retailer meetings, headquarters visits, etc.)

 

The typical salary range for this position is: $220,000 - $250,000

 

The actual salary offer will take into account multiple factors including skills, experience, education and location. Please note that the salary details listed in role postings reflect the base salary only, not total compensation, which includes equity and benefits.
