Reporting To: Chief Media Officer

Location: remote USA anywhere 

Direct Reports: 1 (Digital Project Manager)

Indirect Reports: 5 contractors (Designer/Developer, Mar tech and Data contractors)

 

Role Overview:

Like Bruce Wayne and Batman, there are two sides of this role. During the day, you’ll be in command of marketing technology for Liquid Death—ensuring our site is best in class, managing CRM and running fun ad hoc projects like the best way to auction a YETI casket cooler.  During another part of your day, you’ll be helping develop purpose built, data-centric digital product worthy of its own startup—more advanced tech than exists elsewhere and a secret competitive advantage of Liquid Death.  You’ll have employees, contractors and agencies to support you, but we’re counting on you to lead the team.

 

As the Marketing Technology Director, you will be an instrumental part of Liquid Death’s Media team in leading all Martech initiatives, managing the brand’s digital platform and driving 1P data and CRM strategy.  This role will partner with IT and the Liquid Death brand team to continuously improve LiquidDeath.com, deliver award winning campaigns on brand and in a compliant manner, and act as an architect of important initiatives like conversion programs at retail, and ad hoc campaigns.

 

Core Responsibility Areas: 

  • Brand digital experience and ecommerce practice: Front end and Back end (HTML, Shopify) along with compliance
    • Own and optimize LiquidDeath.com, ensuring an exceptional, brand building user experience, cutting-edge design, and peak technical performance
    • Lead technical product management cycle from business requirements document to sprint and release, leveraging external agencies and developers and ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines
    • Partner with marketing and merchandising teams on digital campaign and merch launches
  • Build and Grow 1P Data: CRM growth, Email/SMS Campaign Execution, LifeCycle
    • Define and own CRM and retention strategy by managing and optimizing all life cycle flow in Klaviyo and evaluate alternative customer data platforms when needed
    • Identify and implement initiatives to grow 1p data including CRM list growth, e-mail/SMS campaign execution and lifecycle management
  • Level up and Manage our DAM and Digital Shelf infrastructure
  • Build and manage 3P data clean room for media and retail data match
  • Support Media Incrementality Practice through building and maintaining scalable data lake
  • Build ad hoc brand digital experiences to support unexpected and unique brand experience

 

Qualification Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in a relatable role managing CRM, 1st Party Data and web development, preferably at a high growth or late stage start up
  • Experience managing developers, designers and external agencies
  • Strong Experience with CDP and Clean Rooms
  • Expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Mastery of Shopify (Online Store 2.0) and experience with mobile web production (basic HTML/CSS and digital production expertise)
  • Deep knowledge of CRM platforms (e.g., Klaviyo, Attentive, Yotpo) and their applications
  • Extensive experience in digital production, including native apps, experiential projects, and emerging technologies
  • Proficiency with key tools such as project management software, bug tracking systems, analytics platforms (Google Analytics, social media analytics, etc.), UX/CX mapping tools, and Google Workspace
  • Strong ability to align technical strategy with broader organizational goals
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed 

 

The typical salary range for this position is: $150,000 - $180,000

The actual salary offer will take into account multiple factors including skills, experience, education and location. Please note that the salary details listed in role postings reflect the base salary only, not total compensation, which includes equity and benefits.
