Liquid Death is a better for you beverage company that will murder your thirst with a wide range of low calorie beverages from water to iced tea to energy drinks. Our goal is to be the funniest beverage brand on earth and to make health and sustainability 50 times more fun.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Trade Finance Analyst to play a critical role in shaping commercial performance within a high-growth, fast-evolving organization. This is a newly created position designed to bring structure, financial rigor, and strategic clarity to trade investment and promotional decision-making.

In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner to Sales, Finance, Revenue Growth Management, and Operations — owning trade investment analytics and helping define what “good” looks like in an environment where benchmarks are still being built.

This is not a maintenance role. It is a builder role.

You will operate in a landscape with ambiguity, evolving processes, and incomplete data sets — translating complexity into insight and insight into action. The ideal candidate thrives without fully defined playbooks and is energized by the opportunity to create scalable frameworks that improve profitability, efficiency, and commercial effectiveness.

Work is reviewed at key milestones rather than day-to-day, and success depends on independent judgment, proactive influence, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Trade Promotion Analysis and Optimization

  • Independently evaluate ROI of trade promotions, discounts, and customer programs, identifying risks and opportunities across revenue, contribution margin, and trade efficiency
  • Influence pricing, promotional depth, and frequency decisions through data-driven insights and financial storytelling

Promotion Planning Ownership

  • Own the end-to-end trade promotion planning and forecasting process within TPM (Vividly), including incremental volume, revenue, and spend assumptions
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to reconcile promotional plans with capacity, inventory, and service constraints

Budget Management

  • Lead trade budget governance, including planned vs. actual vs. budget analysis, identifying root causes of variance and recommending corrective actions
  • Ensure alignment with financial targets while supporting commercial objectives

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to Sales, providing financial perspective on complex trade-offs and influencing decision-making where stakeholders may lack financial expertise
  • Contribute to S&OP discussions by translating commercial plans into financial and operational implications

Sales Reporting and Insights

  • Synthesize complex analyses into clear, concise insights for senior management, highlighting implications, risks, and recommended actions
  • Proactively identify emerging trends, structural issues, or inefficiencies within trade spend and promotional strategy

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or another relevant business field preferred
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in trade promotion analytics and planning, with a proven track record of driving measurable business results; CPG/beverage experience strongly preferred
  • Advanced knowledge and applied understanding of trade finance, promotion mechanics, and CPG commercial strategy
  • Deep comfort operating independently and applying judgment and interpretation to solve problems where precedent may be limited
  • Demonstrated ownership mentality and continuous improvement mindset
  • Comfort building structure in ambiguous environments — creating clarity, tools, and systems from the ground up and implementing structured improvements that scale with the business
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including comfort working with incomplete or evolving data
  • Experience with TPM systems (Vividly preferred), ERP systems (NetSuite a plus), and financial modeling tools
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders through insight, persuasion, and adaptability of communication style
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to advise on difficult or complex financial matters
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
  • Willing to travel up to 10%

The typical salary range for this position is: $115,000 - $125,000

The actual salary offer will take into account multiple factors including skills, experience, education and location. Please note that the salary details listed in role postings reflect the base salary only, not total compensation, which includes equity and benefits.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
