About the Role:
Liquid I.V. is looking for a highly motivated, innovative, out-of-the-box thinker to join our dynamic team at Liquid IV Quality Assurance Department as Associate Principial QA Scientist, focusing on the analysis and interpretation of complex data to support scientific investigation and finding root cause of an out of specification analytical results. Understand the use of advanced analytical techniques and instruments to ensure quality and efficacy of products. The role involves working with the 3rd Party laboratory in the development and validation of analytical methodologies, contributing to innovative solutions that advance research and product development initiatives. Manage stability and shelf-life studies in conjunction with Product Development and Supply Chain teams. This position will require flexibility to attend meetings to effectively communicate with partners across Liquid IV QA/RA, R&D and CM as well as suppliers
Functions and duties of this role include, but not limited to:
- Worked with the 3rd Party laboratory to assist in the development, optimization, and validation of analytical methods to characterize LIV products including the use of HPLC, GC, LC-MS/MS, IEP-OES and IEP-MS, etc.
- Specific responsibilities include coordinating and troubleshoot an out of specifications test data for raw materials and finished products between teams in our co-manufacturers, Product Development, co-packers, 3rd Party Laboratories and suppliers.
- Manage Product Testing Program through third party laboratories (routine product testing, shelf-life extension & stability testing, osmolarity testing, etc.).
- Manages NSF Sports products to ensure products are following the requirements and procedures imposed by these agencies through extensive product testing and certifications. Set-up processes for the release of NSF and Informed Sports products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project objectives providing analytical insights to drive decision-making processes.
- Support compliance of certifications and claims including non-GMO Project verified, Vegan, Gluten-Free, OSMO, NSF, etc
- Support R&D in qualifying co-manufacturer new blenders by reviewing and approving data performed during the process validation of new products.
- Stays abreast of new technologies or analytical techniques that drive efficiency, sensitivity, and/or cost improvement as well as following regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- BS Degree in Chemistry preferred and Food Science, or related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant analytical instrumentation experience in the food/supplement industry and experience with method development and validation for food and dietary supplement products.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, draw valid conclusions, and propose solutions
- Strong knowledge or familiarity with test methods like AOAC, USP, EPA and other related compendial test methods.
- Strong understanding of GLP, ISO 17025 Accreditation, FDA, GMP, HACCP required
- Strong analytical, critical thinking skills and writing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Work Environment:
Hybrid office environment with flexibility for industry events. Travel 20%-30% of the time.

The expected salary range for this position is $110,700 - $166,100 annually and is bonus eligible. The exact salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, internal company equity, and budget. The listed range is applicable only to the annual base salary and does not include additional perks, benefits, or applicable bonus eligibility comprising the total compensation package.
