Role: Consultant in Public Health / Public Health Medicine
Salary: £91,615 – £103,835 + 5% on-call supplement
Location: Oxford
Hours: 37 per week – flexible working arrangements available
Contract Type: Permanent | Politically restricted post 

About the Role

We're seeking an inspiring Public Health leader to join our high-performing team and help drive forward transformational change in a county known for collaboration, innovation and impact.

As Consultant in Public Health, you'll:

  • Shape Oxfordshire’s strategic public health direction through system-wide partnerships
  • Lead priority areas including healthcare public health, intelligence/surveillance, and substance use prevention
  • Champion population health management and preventative approaches aligned with our 10-Year Health Plan
  • Collaborate with local NHS Trusts, the ICS, social care, and criminal justice partners
  • Manage and mentor a skilled team of around 10 public health professionals
  • Represent Public Health at executive-level meetings and contribute to regional teaching and audit
  • Embed a Marmot approach to tackling health inequalities head-on

You’ll be:

  • A qualified Consultant in Public Health / Public Health Medicine
  • Srategic, courageous and skilled in influencing at all levels
  • Fluent in public health principles and real-world impact
  • Experienced in leadership, commissioning, and building sustainable change
  • Excited to collaborate across disciplines and drive forward Oxfordshire’s ambitious priorities
