Job Description: 

Liquid Personnel is seeking an Occupational Therapist – Learning Disabilities & Autism for its client in Manchester. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join a small, friendly, and supportive multidisciplinary team with high morale, based in Manchester. This role focuses on supporting adults with learning disabilities (LD) and autism within social care, particularly in supported living settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the level of care provided to LD citizens in supported living or those preparing to move into supported living
  • Provide specialist assessments to support transitions in or out of supported living based on complexity and accommodation suitability
  • Apply sensory and environmental interventions, assistive technology, and equipment/adaptations to enhance independence and optimise care
  • Undertake manual handling risk assessments, develop handling plans, and provide training to carers
  • Work closely with the Social Work LD team, Health LD therapists, and other professionals
  • Manage a complex caseload autonomously, demonstrating high-level problem solving and clinical reasoning
  • Contribute to service development and best practice within the Principal OT Team

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and autism
  • Knowledge of managing challenging behaviours
  • Experience in manual handling, including risk assessments and training delivery
  • Experience in single-handed care is desirable
  • Must be a car driver due to city-wide travel requirements
