Social Worker - Children’s Safeguarding & Care Planning
Liquid Personnel is recruiting Social Worker for its client's Children’s Safeguarding & Care Planning Team at Teesside.
This is a rare opportunity to work within a local authority that has been recognized by Ofsted for its "unwavering commitment to children" and "exceptionally strong management oversight." If you want to work in an environment where caseloads are manageable and the "voice of the child" is truly at the heart of practice, this is the role for you.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Managing a caseload of children and young people subject to Child Protection Plans and Children in Need.
- Conducting thorough, child-centred Section 47 investigations and risk assessments.
- Leading on Public Law Outline (PLO) and representing the authority in court proceedings where necessary.
- Collaborating with a multi-agency "Children’s Hub" to ensure early help and preventative measures are integrated into long-term safety planning.
Benefits:
- National Recognition: Work for a service recently rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted (2024), where practice is described as "consistently good across all parts of the service."
- Competitive Pay: A flat rate of £36.00 per hour.
- Work-Life Balance: Hybrid working arrangements are standard, allowing for a mix of home-based and office-based tasks.
- Supportive Environment: Benefit from a stable workforce with limited use of interim workers, ensuring better continuity for children and more peer support for you.
- Front-Door Excellence: Work alongside a "very strong front-door service" that ensures cases are triaged effectively before reaching the safeguarding teams.
Qualifications & Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have,
- Education: Degree in Social Work.
- Registration: Active registration with Social Work England.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in a statutory Safeguarding, Child Protection, or Assessment team.
- Skills: Excellent report-writing skills (especially for court) and the ability to build "enduring and trusting relationships" with families.
