Experienced Social Worker – Duty & Assessment
Liquid Personnel is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its client’s Duty and Assessment team in Oldham. This role is ideal for practitioners who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to keeping children and young people safe through timely interventions and robust assessments.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Conduct strategy meetings and Section 47 (S47) investigations to ensure children are protected from harm.
- Formulate and execute Child in Need (CIN) plans and conduct regular CIN reviews.
- Manage a caseload of referrals to determine the necessary level of intervention within the continuum of need.
- Step up and progress cases to Initial Child Protection Case Conferences (ICPCC), Public Law Outline (PLO), and Court proceedings as required.
- Prepare and participate in planned court work effectively and within appropriate timescales.
- Ensure the needs and wishes of children are central to the assessment and planning process.
- Work in partnership with other professionals and agencies to provide a coordinated social work response.
Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Social Work England registration.
- CQSW, DipSW, Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Post-qualified experience in a Duty and Assessment or similar frontline setting.
- A full UK driving licence and a car available for business use (essential car user post).
- Strong assessment skills, specifically in identifying risk and managing complex family circumstances.
- PLO/Court experience is desirable; however, support and training will be provided for those willing to learn.
