Social Worker - Early Help & Prevention
What will your responsibilities be?
- Preventative Safeguarding: Undertake work to diminish safeguarding concerns, investigate significant harm, and utilize legislation to promote the welfare of service users.
- Direct Therapeutic Work: Provide a social work service through assessments, direct therapeutic interventions, and comprehensive care management.
- Complex Decision Making: Manage a caseload involving multiple risk factors, disadvantage, and complex family dynamics, ensuring work is critically evaluated and reviewed.
- Court Proceedings: Act as an expert witness, providing robust evidence in court and presenting reports for applications for Legal Orders.
- Multi-Agency Leadership: Lead and chair multi-disciplinary assessments and meetings, ensuring effective information sharing across various organisations.
- Resource Innovation: Make the best use of mainstream and specialist resources, demonstrating innovation to meet the unique needs of service users.
- Mentorship: Support the development of the team by mentoring newly qualified social workers or acting as a practice educator for students.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, concise, and purposeful records that accurately assess and manage high levels of risk and complexity.

Qualifications & Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have,
- Social Work England registration and a recognized social work qualification.
- Theoretical Integration: The ability to apply theoretical concepts and social work ethical principles to guide professional practice and decision-making.
- Caseload Management: Proven ability to self-manage a challenging and demanding workload while seeking support when necessary.
- Partnership Skills: Experience maintaining contact with statutory and voluntary sector professionals to influence outcomes in case planning.
- Continuous Development: A commitment to identifying learning needs and participating in regular supervision and appraisal.
