Social Worker - Child Protection

Liquid Personnel is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its client’s Amber Valley North Team based in Alfreton, Derbyshire. This is a small, settled, and supportive team currently requiring agency cover due to a high level of maternity leave. This opportunity will suit a practitioner who values a strong office‑based team culture, professional support, and manageable caseloads.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Case Management: Hold a diverse caseload including Single Assessments, Children in Need (CIN), and Child Protection (CP) cases.
  • Legal Proceedings: Manage cases within the court arena, including both private and public law processes, ensuring all legal timelines are met.
  • Safeguarding: Act as a standard Child Protection worker within a busy frontline environment, prioritizing the safety and well-being of children.
  • Assessment: Conduct thorough and timely assessments to identify risk and protective factors, informing effective care planning.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to the positive morale of a settled team by sharing knowledge and participating in office-based professional discussions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Social Work England registration and a recognized Social Work qualification.
  • Experience Requirement: Minimum of 3 years of post-qualified experience in frontline Children and Families Social Work.
  • Legal Expertise: Proven experience in Court work and navigating statutory legal processes.
  • Compliance: Candidates must comply with DfE guidelines, specifically evidencing 3 years of permanent employment post-qualification.

Working Hours and Hybrid Pattern

  • Office Presence: There is an expectation for workers to be office-based 3 days per week. This structure is highly valued by the team for morale and peer support.
  • Travel: Travel is required across the Amber Valley locality; all business-related expenses are covered.
  • Schedule: Standard core hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
