Locum Occupational Therapist
Liquid Personnel is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to support the Community Services through timely and effective initial assessments for its client based in Blackburn.
This locum role sits within a local authority setting and focuses on delivering high‑quality, community‑based assessments and interventions to promote individuals’ independence, safety, and wellbeing in their own homes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for completing occupational therapy assessments and overseeing the provision of equipment, as well as minor and major adaptations, in line with local authority policies and statutory requirements.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Undertake community‑based Occupational Therapy assessments
- Identify needs and recommend standard and specialist equipment
- Complete manual handling assessments
- Plan, coordinate and facilitate minor and major home adaptations
- Work collaboratively with service users, families, carers and multi‑disciplinary professionals
- Develop person‑centred, outcome‑focused support plans
- Maintain accurate, timely and legally compliant case records
Qualifications & Experience:
- HCPC‑registered Occupational Therapist
- Relevant Occupational Therapy qualification
- Proven experience working within a local authority/community setting
- Strong knowledge of:
- Equipment provision
- Minor and major adaptations
- Manual handling assessments
- Excellent communication, organisation and time‑management skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a community caseload
