Social Worker - Court Team

Liquid Personnel is recruiting Social Worker for its client's Court Team in Torbay.

As a Social Worker within Torbay Council’s Court Team, you will work with children and families involved in care proceedings, ensuring that children’s welfare and best interests remain central to decision-making. You will undertake complex assessments, develop care plans and provide high-quality evidence and reports to the Family Court.

What will your responsibilities be?

• Manage a complex caseload of children subject to care proceedings.
• Undertake assessments of children and families and identify risks, needs and protective factors.
• Prepare clear, accurate and evidence-based statements and reports for the Family Court.
• Develop and review care plans in accordance with children’s needs and court requirements.
• Work closely with parents, children, carers and extended family members throughout proceedings.
• Liaise effectively with solicitors, Cafcass, guardians, barristers and other professionals involved in court proceedings.
• Attend court hearings, care planning meetings, conferences and other professional meetings.
• Ensure children’s wishes, feelings and best interests are appropriately represented within court proceedings.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure statutory duties and court timescales are met.
• Work in accordance with relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures, local policies and Social Work England standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have, 

• Social Work England registration
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Hold a full UK driving licence
• Post-qualified experience
• Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
