The Role: Field Application Engineer - Europe/EMEA

This is a customer-facing, pre-sales engineering role where you will take ownership of how LiquidStack solutions are positioned, designed, and adopted across EMEA.

You will act as a trusted technical advisor and key contributor to winning business, working directly with customers, consultants, and partners to shape outcomes from concept through deployment.

What You’ll Own

  • Technical pre-sales strategy for key opportunities in your region

  • Influencing specifications with engineering consultants and design firms

  • Solution definition—translating customer requirements into deployable systems

  • Technical win execution in competitive bids

  • Customer technical relationships from early engagement through validation

Your work will directly impact pipeline progression, deal success, and long-term customer adoption.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

What You’ll Do

Engage and Influence the Market

  • Build relationships with engineering consultants, contractors, operators, and system integrators across Europe

  • Shape early-stage project requirements to ensure LiquidStack solutions are specified

  • Deliver high-quality technical presentations, workshops, and training sessions

  • Represent LiquidStack as a credible, trusted expert in customer environments

Lead Technical Solution Development

  • Translate complex requirements into practical, cost-effective system designs

  • Define configurations, layouts, and high-level architectures

  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams for advanced solution development

  • Ensure technical accuracy and strength in proposals and customer deliverables

Drive Commercial Outcomes

  • Partner closely with Sales to accelerate pipeline and improve win rates

  • Contribute to deal strategy and technical positioning

  • Balance performance, cost, and implementation considerations

  • Clearly articulate value and differentiation in competitive scenarios

Contribute to a Scaling European Business

  • Provide insight into regional market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics

  • Support the continued growth and positioning of LiquidStack across EMEA

  • Collaborate across global teams in Sales, Product, and Engineering

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

What You Bring

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).

Experience

  • 2–5 years in a Field Application Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Applications Engineer role

  • Background in one or more of the following:

    • Data centers or critical infrastructure

    • HVAC, cooling systems, or mechanical building services

    • Industrial or process cooling environments

Technical & Commercial Capability

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, thermal, or infrastructure systems

  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and system architectures

  • Experience supporting pre-sales activities and solution development

  • Confident delivering technical presentations to external stakeholders

  • Ability to connect technical decisions with commercial outcomes

Nice to Have

  • Experience with liquid cooling or high-density computing environments

  • Familiarity with the European data center ecosystem

  • Additional European language skills

Personal Attributes

  • High ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently

  • Strong communication skills across diverse, cross-cultural environments

  • Comfortable engaging with senior technical and commercial stakeholders

  • Motivated by both technical challenge and commercial impact

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT 

  • Remote role based in Europe (flexible location)

  • Regional and occasional international travel required (~30–50%)

  • Valid passport and driver’s license required
