Position Summary
The Manufacturing Leader is a hands-on production leader responsible for driving safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing cell focused on electromechanical systems.
This role is 80% on the production floor, actively leading teams, solving problems in real time, and driving operational execution. You will bridge production, engineering, and quality to ensure output meets customer expectations while building scalable processes for growth.
This is not a desk-based supervisor role—this is a floor-driven leadership position focused on execution, accountability, and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities End-to-End Cell Ownership
- Lead from the production floor daily; set pace, priorities, and expectations
- Directly supervise, coach, and develop production team members
- Reinforce a Safety First mindset and ensure compliance with all safety standards
- Build team capability through cross-training and skill development
- Drive accountability, performance management, and engagement
- Address issues in real-time with a hands-on leadership approach.
Production Scaling & New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Own daily production output across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC)
- Manage schedules, staffing, and material readiness to meet demand
- Monitor and improve key metrics:
- Throughput
- Cycle time
- First-pass yield
- Scrap/rework
- Lead escalation and resolution of production constraints
- Support audits and ensure traceability for complex electromechanical assemblies.
Data-Driven Continuous Improvement
- Leverage production data, dashboards, and KPIs to drive decision-making and performance improvements
- Lead kaizen events and structured problem-solving initiatives (A3, 5 Whys, Fishbone)
- Apply lean tools including 5S, standardized work, and visual management
- Deliver measurable improvements in productivity, efficiency, and cost
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to implement automation, tooling enhancements, and test systems
- Support process validation, capability studies, and continuous process optimization
- Act as a key interface between Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure alignment and execution
Production Scaling & Process Improvement
- Support production ramp-ups and capacity planning
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering on:
- Line balancing
- Tooling and fixtures
- Process standardization
- Ensure readiness for growth, including workforce planning and training
- Contribute to building scalable manufacturing systems
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
- 3–7+ years of experience in manufacturing, ideally in electromechanical or thermal/mechanical systems.
- 1–3+ years of leadership experience in a production environment.
- Strong experience with lean manufacturing
- Production Floor leadership
- Problem-solving methodologies (Lean)
- Root cause problem-solving
- Proven ability to manage KPIs and drive operational performance.
- Experience supporting production ramp-ups in a fast-growth environment.
- Accuracy and accountability.
- Ability to operate in fast-pace, evolving production environment
Systems & Tools
- Smartsheet, Resource Management Tools
- Salesforce
- Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in data center infrastructure, thermal systems, HVAC, or fluid-based systems.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems.
- Exposure to automated or semi-automated manufacturing environments.
- Experience in high-growth or scaling manufacturing organizations.
