Position Description
The Program Assistant will be responsible for ensuring efficient office operations by providing a range of administrative functions to support the LISC office. In addition, the Program Assistant will provide support to the Detroit team to ensure grant/contract management is timely and accurate and programs are administered smoothly and effectively.
Responsibilities include grant administration, compliance and disbursements, and financial management. The successful candidate must be proactive, organized, familiar with budgeting, able to perform multiple tasks and demonstrate effective teamwork to accomplish regular and ongoing tasks, possess outstanding administrative and computer skills; and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Administer, track, and update donor lists, records, and communication materials used for fundraising, utilizing LISC platforms, including Salesforce to work efficiently
- Utilize current processes and systems to track local office revenue and expenses monthly for accuracy; provide other support to include invoicing, updating payment status, proactively communicating with LISC vendors as well as internal teams, including disbursement of private and government grants and related compliance
- Process incoming checks and grants, and track status of all receivables
- Plan and coordinate events and meeting logistics for staff to attend training sand conferences
- Managing external events calendar for LISC Detroit staff attendance
- Support Local Advisory Committee meetings (minutes, logistics, meeting coordination, and technology support) and other committees
- Develop and enhance processes/procedures to effectively manage daily office operations
- Distribute mail, overnight packages, respond to phone and email inquiries from the public, maintain office and meeting space, proactively ensure office is prepared for meeting and guests
- Order office supplies and manage inventory to ensure adequate supplies for the office and staff
- Work with LISC IT to maintain/troubleshoot LISC operating systems, software, applications, computer & other office equipment
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with local and national LISC operations teams
- Provide administrative support to the LISC Detroit team
- Coordinate with the National Communications team, prepare content for publication including newsletters and press releases and as required, update our social media presence, including review of analytics to inform the broader communication strategy.
- Manage all local social media accounts and regularly update all mailing & contact lists
Program Responsibilities
- Coordinate and serve as liaison to the National LISC Sports & Recreation team including promoting funding opportunities, managing review of proposal submitted, tracking and reporting on grant outcomes, preparing grant agreements, reviewing financial reports, processing grant disbursements, and supporting grant compliance
- Market the LISC AmeriCorps program to community partners, recruit host sites, hold regular meetings with members and partners, coordinate project activities, and ensure program compliance
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or comparable work experience.
- Program Management experience a plus
- Minimum 2+ years’ related work experience in non-profit administration or community development preferred
- Proficiency in the following types of software: Salesforce, Certify, NetSuite, ADP, Campaign Monitor, Canva, Smartsheet's and Box
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Experience analyzing and organizing conceptual and quantitative information
- Facilitate multiple and varied projects with strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
- Work independently and as a part of a team
- Experience with social and digital media management, including front end and backend website updates a plus
- Experience working effectively with diverse staff and stakeholders
- Excellent customer service skills
COMPENSATION:
LISC offers a competitive salary ($47,600 - $59,500) commensurate with experience and location and an excellent benefits package.
