Strategic Communications Lead

Responsibilities
The Strategic Communications Lead for Executive Leadership will support all communications to enhance the visibility, thought leadership, and brand positioning LISC and by way of supporting the CEO, EVP of Local and National Programs and other senior leadership. The ideal candidate will be a skilled storyteller and strategist with experience in executive messaging, media relations, and mission-driven communications. This position plays a critical role in advancing the organization’s impact by ensuring that leadership voices effectively engage stakeholders, media, and the broader public.
- Develop and execute strategic communications plans for the executive team, driving thought leadership, brand awareness and advancing critical objectives in collaboration with internal and external key stakeholders.
- Oversee and develop all content for select leadership including speech writing, email communications, social media presence and event attendance to ensure continuous and consistent elevation of messaging, news and other highlights from the organization to internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with organization’s external public relations firm to support media outreach to secure coverage of LISC leadership of newsworthy topics intersecting with the organization’s mission and work.
- Work to support any partner and funder needs requiring executive support and engagement.
- Contribute to the curation of the LISC All message matrix and usage guidelines.
- Lead in partnership when supporting events including any member of the executive team or special project requiring executive content.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's from an accredited college or university or relevant related work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a communications manager/publicist building the profile for C-suite executives who operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interest in issues related to closing wealth, health and opportunity gaps, with the skill to communicate complex subjects in clear, accessible language.
- Ability to support the organization’s external PR firm in pitching the CEO for relevant events and engagements that align with strategic objectives.
- Experience maintaining and growing social media presence on LinkedIn and other social media properties
- Exceptional writing, editing, and public speaking skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective time management skills in a fast-paced setting.
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside of standard hours as needed.
- Innovative and energetic approach to identifying new opportunities for thought leadership.
- Collaborative work style and commitment to the organization’s values.
Compensation
LISC offers a competitive salary ($74,800 - $93,500) commensurate with experience and location and an excellent benefits package
