Position Description

LISC Fund Management (LFM) seeks an experienced fund finance professional to serve as Senior Director, Fund Finance within the Fund Management & Finance team. The Senior Director is responsible for leading the financial reporting and close process across LFM-managed funds, ensuring that fund financial statements are accurate, timely, complete, and appropriately analyzed and communicated to internal stakeholders.

Reporting to the Vice President, Fund Management & Finance, the Senior Director serves as the day-to-day owner of fund financial reporting across approximately 12 existing funds and new funds as the platform grows. The role quarterbacks quarterly and annual closes, financial statement review, fund and organizational audits, and finance-related preparation for SEC examinations, working closely with LFM's third-party fund administrator, Broadstreet Impact Services, LISC Finance, external auditors, and other stakeholders. The Senior Director also oversees third-party treasury management and loan servicing providers, ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial operations across the fund platform.

The Senior Director serves as the primary day-to-day manager of LFM's fund accounting, treasury management, and loan servicing providers, with particular responsibility for the Broadstreet relationship and the quality and timeliness of fund financial reporting, establishing expectations, monitoring deliverables, holding the provider accountable for quality and timelines, and escalating significant service or performance issues as appropriate. The role also coordinates closely with Fund Managers, who retain responsibility for fund performance, cash management, capital calls and distributions, and investor-facing fund management.

This position combines strong fund accounting expertise with financial analysis, judgment, and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate understands the full financial lifecycle of an investment fund, can independently manage repeated quarterly and annual close cycles across funds at different stages of maturity, and can move beyond closing the books to identify trends, explain financial results, and surface issues requiring leadership attention. The Senior Director also leads the Senior Associate, Fund Finance and helps establish scalable policies, procedures, and financial reporting practices as LFM's fund portfolio grows.

Responsibilities

Fund Financial Reporting, Close & Analysis (40%)

  • Lead the quarterly and annual financial reporting and close process across 12-24 LFM-managed funds and related entities, ensuring timely completion of accurate financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Review balance sheets, income statements, reconciliations, investment activity, expenses, allocations, and other fund financial information to identify errors, inconsistencies, trends, and issues requiring further investigation.
  • Provide final review and approval of fund financial reporting following initial review and quality-control activities performed by the Senior Associate, Fund Finance.
  • Own resolution of financial reporting questions from identification through close-out, coordinating with Broadstreet, LISC Finance, Fund Managers, and other stakeholders as necessary.
  • Analyze completed financial statements and prepare clear summaries of significant results, trends, variances, and issues for the VP, Fund Management & Finance and other LFM leadership.
  • Ensure fund financial statements appropriately reflect investment activity, loan servicing activity, cash and treasury activity, fund expenses, allocations, distributions, and other material fund transactions.
  • Support annual budgeting by providing historical financial results, reporting inputs, and analysis in coordination with Fund Management and leadership.
  • Lead fund-finance reporting processes throughout the fund lifecycle, including financial reporting setup for new funds, recurring close and reporting during the investment and operating periods, and financial close-out and reporting through fund wind-down.

Fund Administration, Treasury & External Partner Management (25%)

  • Serve as the day-to-day relationship owner for Broadstreet Impact Services and other third-party financial service providers, including fund accounting, treasury management, and loan servicing vendors.
  • Maintain day-to-day accountability for Broadstreet's performance against agreed-upon scopes, timelines, and quality standards; directly resolve routine service and reporting issues and escalate material or recurring performance concerns to appropriate LFM leadership.

  • Review Broadstreet-prepared financial statements, supporting schedules, and financial workbooks, including Excel-based reporting for Small Business Funds, and identify errors, inconsistencies, or incomplete information requiring correction.
  • Oversee treasury-management activities across LFM-managed funds, including appropriate controls, cash activity, bank-account administration, and coordination of fund-level treasury needs.
  • Oversee third-party loan servicing activities, reviewing servicing information and coordinating resolution of discrepancies or issues with Fund Management, Asset Management, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Proactively identify recurring service, reporting, or control issues across vendors; drive resolution and escalate material performance concerns to LFM leadership when necessary.
  • Coordinate with LISC Finance to ensure fund financial activity is accurately understood and incorporated into LFM and parent-company financial reporting, as applicable.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax providers, and other finance-related service providers.

Audit, Compliance & Financial Reporting Infrastructure (20%)

  • Lead the financial reporting and finance workstreams for annual audits of LFM-managed funds, coordinating financial statements, schedules, supporting documentation, responses, and proposed adjustments with Broadstreet, external auditors, Fund Managers, and other stakeholders.

  • Lead Fund Finance's financial preparation and response activities for SEC examinations and audits, coordinating with LFM Compliance, Legal, LISC Finance, external providers, and leadership to produce requested financial records and resolve financial-reporting questions.
  • Serve as the primary finance contact for auditors and examiners on fund financial reporting matters, ensuring questions and requests are tracked through resolution and material issues are appropriately escalated.
  • Review audit schedules, supporting documentation, proposed adjustments, findings, and financial-reporting observations; investigate discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, fund governing documents, SEC/RIA requirements applicable to the role, organizational policies, and other relevant financial-reporting requirements.
  • Develop and strengthen fund-finance policies, close procedures, review standards, documentation requirements, internal controls, and quality-assurance practices.
  • Establish scalable financial reporting, treasury, servicing-oversight, and audit processes capable of supporting continued growth in the number and complexity of LFM-managed funds.

  • Partner with LISC Finance, Fund Management, Investor Relations, Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders to communicate fund financial information accurately and resolve financial reporting issues.
  • Escalate significant accounting issues, reporting discrepancies, emerging financial trends, or unresolved partner issues to the VP and other appropriate leadership with clear analysis and recommended next steps.

  • Translate complex accounting and fund financial information into clear, decision-useful insights for leadership and non-accounting stakeholders.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
