Intern, Social Media Engagement

Remote

LISC is one of the country’s largest community development organizations, helping forge vibrant, resilient communities across America. LISC works with residents and partners to close gaps in health, wealth, and opportunity so that people and places can thrive. We do this by acting as a conduit for grants, loans and equity--and by providing technical assistance and capacity building--to locally rooted organizations that carry out the work in communities.

About This Role

Are you passionate about using social media as a tool for social change? As a Communications Intern at LISC, you'll gain hands-on experience in community impact and the development of innovative social content that highlights critical community needs and the work we do to create community for all. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about community development, CDFIs, impact measurement, and market analysis.

  • Contribute to storyboarding, scriptwriting, and shot planning to ensure videos align with LISC’s brand voice and messaging
  • Support remote video interviews and recordings using platforms like Zoom and Riverside.fm
  • Assist in creating captions, graphics, and subtitles to enhance video accessibility and engagement
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to brainstorm video ideas that amplify the impact of LISC’s national and local work
  • Research visual storytelling trends and recommend content approaches that resonate with our mission and audience
  • Participate in post-production review processes, including providing rough cuts and incorporating internal feedback
  • Maintain best practices for file storage, naming conventions, and cross-team sharing of final assets

  • Strong academic record with coursework in film, media production, digital storytelling, communications, or a related field
  • Experience with video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar platforms

  • Enthusiasm for community storytelling, nonprofit work, or social impact
  • Experience with motion graphics or animation (e.g., After Effects, Canva video tools) a plus
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and how video content performs across different channels
