Intern, Social Media Engagement

About This Role
Are you passionate about using social media as a tool for social change? As a Communications Intern at LISC, you'll gain hands-on experience in community impact and the development of innovative social content that highlights critical community needs and the work we do to create community for all. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about community development, CDFIs, impact measurement, and market analysis.
Responsibilities

Video Content Production
- Assist in the planning, filming, and editing of video content for LISC’s social media, website, and digital campaigns
- Support the development of short-form video content optimized for platforms such as Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn
- Help organize and catalog video assets, including b-roll, interviews, event footage, and testimonials
- Contribute to storyboarding, scriptwriting, and shot planning to ensure videos align with LISC’s brand voice and messaging
- Support remote video interviews and recordings using platforms like Zoom and Riverside.fm
- Assist in creating captions, graphics, and subtitles to enhance video accessibility and engagement
- Collaborate with the Communications team to brainstorm video ideas that amplify the impact of LISC’s national and local work
- Research visual storytelling trends and recommend content approaches that resonate with our mission and audience
- Participate in post-production review processes, including providing rough cuts and incorporating internal feedback
- Maintain best practices for file storage, naming conventions, and cross-team sharing of final assets
Minimum Qualifications
- Rising junior or senior at an accredited college/university, or current graduate student
- Strong academic record with coursework in film, media production, digital storytelling, communications, or a related field
- Experience with video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar platforms
- Basic understanding of video formats, codecs, aspect ratios, and social media video requirements
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently, while also collaborating in a team setting
- Enthusiasm for community storytelling, nonprofit work, or social impact
- Experience with motion graphics or animation (e.g., After Effects, Canva video tools) a plus
- Familiarity with social media platforms and how video content performs across different channels
