Assistant Inventory Planner
Mountainside, NJ
Little Words Project is seeking an Assistant Inventory Planner to support inventory planning and forecasting across retail, e-commerce, and wholesale channels. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and excited to learn the ins and outs of planning in a fast-paced, growing brand environment. You’ll work closely with the Inventory Planner and cross-functional partners in Sales, Product, Merchandising, and Operations to track performance, maintain accurate data, and prepare reports that guide business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Inventory Planner in forecasting demand for new launches, collaborations, and seasonal collections.
 - Monitor daily and weekly sales, inventory, and replenishment data to identify trends and potential stock risks.
 - Maintain SKU setup, pricing updates, and product lifecycle updates across systems to ensure data accuracy.
 - Assist in managing allocations, replenishments, and transfers across retail, e-commerce, and wholesale channels.
 - Prepare reports and summaries on inventory, sales, and product performance for cross-functional meetings.
 - Collaborate with Product and Operations teams to ensure new products are launch-ready with accurate inventory data.
 - Partner with Merchandising and Marketing to align inventory with sales and promotional plans.
 - Assist with inventory discrepancies, reconciliations and auditing processes.
 - Support process improvements to help the team work more efficiently and maintain accurate inventory data.
 
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of experience in merchandise or inventory planning (retail or consumer goods preferred).
 - Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
 - High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
 - Clear, proactive communicator who enjoys cross-functional teamwork.
 - Eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced, creative, and data-driven environment.
