ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounts Receivable (Collections) Manager to lead and oversee our accounts receivable team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts receivable process, with a strong focus on minimizing bad debt, streamlining processes, and reducing overall past due amounts. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in AR management and the ability to foster a high-performing team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the Accounts Receivable Team: Lead and mentor the accounts receivable team, providing guidance and support to help team members improve and grow in their roles.
- Minimize Bad Debt: Develop and implement strategies to minimize bad debt and the number of accounts that progress to collections.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize the overall accounts receivable function.
- AR Aging Management: Regularly review and manage accounts receivable aging reports to decrease past due amounts and ensure timely collections.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance metrics, using data-driven insights to manage and communicate team performance.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination on accounts receivable matters.
- Technical Proficiency: Master the use of technical systems and tools related to accounts receivable to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Time Management: Prioritize tasks effectively, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: 3-5 years of prior management experience in accounts receivable.
- Communication: Must be able to effectively communicate across an organization, both written and verbally.
- Performance Management: Proven track record of establishing performance metrics and applying these to manage and communicate team performance.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on improving processes and outcomes.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to quickly master technical systems and tools relevant to accounts receivable management.
- Time Management: Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
