ABOUT THIS ROLE
LVT is seeking a Director of Security Engineering to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for leading and enhancing the security posture of our technology and products. Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), you will work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, GRC, and IT teams to embed security at every stage of the product development lifecycle. Your leadership will ensure that security remains a core component of our products, supporting our mission to reduce risk while maintaining customer trust continually.
This role will provide technical and risk leadership to ensure our product's security is effective, communicated, continuously monitored, and aligned with our business objectives. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and experience in implementing product security solutions and automation to address security-related issues while effectively communicating and managing security risk posture across leadership teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define, develop, execute, maintain, and communicate a forward-looking product security strategy aligned with business goals and emerging threats.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent in product security, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture where team members are empowered to excel and grow.
- Work closely with engineering and product teams to design, implement, and operate secure systems that protect LVT’s hardware, SaaS, and cloud environment.
- Build an engineer-centric security program, embedding security into development artifacts, processes, and tooling to efficiently maintain key security controls.
- Drive complex, cross-functional security initiatives to mitigate common risks and vulnerabilities, ensuring security is maintained at every stage.
- Develop and maintain technical solutions to proactively address security threats, risks, and vulnerabilities.
- Partner with tech leads and executive leadership to conduct threat models, review technical designs, and implement architectural improvements, balancing priorities such as security, reliability, and performance.
- Manage the full lifecycle of security incidents, from investigation to resolution, responding effectively to any security breaches or related events.
- Develop and track metrics and KPIs to measure product security effectiveness, continuously improving security posture and aligning with organizational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS (Required)
- A proven track record of building and scaling security organizations as a Director or higher in high-growth companies, where you fostered a strong security culture and led teams through rapid change and complexity.
- A strong technical background that includes proven experience developing, implementing, and optimizing AppSec, SOC, IR, and cloud security functions.
- Experience communicating detailed security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills that inspire collaboration and drive alignment across teams.
- Demonstrated an ability to lead effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments, balancing strategic vision with tactical execution to respond to evolving security needs.
- Experience talking to customers and communicating risks and controls.
QUALIFICATIONS (Preferred)
- Hands-on experience in deploying secure coding practices, automation, threat modeling, and application security solutions.
- Experience in securing products in highly dynamic cloud environments especially AWS.
- A clear understanding of modern application architectures, including microservices, containerization, and cloud-native applications.
- Have demonstrated success in partnering closely with Product and Engineering teams to drive security programs.
- Experience collaborating closely with GRC and Legal teams to lead and support security-related audits, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and fostering a unified approach to risk management.
- Experience in assessing and developing product hardware and supply chain security controls and practices
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and best practices, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST 800-53, etc.
