ABOUT THIS ROLE

The company is seeking an accomplished and strategic Head of Project Management Office (PMO) to oversee the governance, execution, and delivery of enterprise-wide projects and programs. This role is instrumental in ensuring projects are aligned with organizational goals, delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Head of PMO will establish and manage the overall project governance framework, while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of leadership, strategic thinking, and deep expertise in project and portfolio management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership and Governance:

  • Define and implement the enterprise PMO framework, including standards, processes, and tools for effective project management and portfolio oversight.
  • Align project objectives with business goals, ensuring strategic priorities are met through a cohesive project execution strategy.
  • Drive the selection, prioritization, and sequencing of projects based on organizational needs and resource capacity.

Portfolio and Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring consistent adherence to scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Establish robust risk management processes to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project and portfolio risks.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and project health metrics to ensure project success and alignment with business outcomes.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing regular updates on project portfolio performance and strategic insights.
  • Foster strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand requirements, resolve challenges, and drive alignment across teams.
  • Ensure transparent and effective communication across all levels of the organization, promoting project visibility and stakeholder engagement.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of project managers and analysts, cultivating a high-performing, collaborative, and results-driven team.
  • Provide training and coaching to enhance the team’s project management capabilities and foster professional growth.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovative approaches, leveraging best practices, and sharing lessons learned.

Vendor and Resource Management:

  • Oversee the selection and management of external vendors, ensuring alignment with project objectives and organizational standards.
  • Optimize resource allocation across projects, balancing competing priorities and maximizing operational efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements (SLAs) with external partners to deliver value and meet project requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or PMP/PMI-ACP certification is highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in project and portfolio management, including leadership roles within a PMO or similar governance framework.
  • Proven success in delivering large-scale, complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, or equivalent).
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of developing and managing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in managing budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges, propose innovative solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
