ABOUT THIS ROLE

LVT is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer III (Atlassian) to join our growing technology team. This role will be pivotal in managing, optimizing, and scaling the project management and collaboration infrastructure that powers how LVT plans, builds, and delivers work.

The primary focus of this role is the administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of our Atlassian product suite (Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence) — ensuring these platforms are secure, reliable, well-governed, and aligned with the evolving needs of the business and end users. The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on Atlassian expertise paired with broader systems engineering instincts: strong fundamentals around SaaS administration, integrations, identity, and lightweight automation.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for someone who genuinely enjoys turning messy, sprawling tooling into clean, scalable systems people actually want to use.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Atlassian Administration & Optimization (Primary Focus)

  • Own day-to-day administration of the Atlassian Cloud suite (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and related products).
  • Design, configure, and maintain projects, workflows, screens, fields, schemes, permissions, automation rules, and notification schemes — balancing flexibility for teams with sustainable, standardized governance across the org.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, JQL filters, and reporting to give leadership and teams clear visibility into work, capacity, and delivery health.
  • Lead Atlassian governance: drive standards for project setup, naming conventions, custom field hygiene, and lifecycle management to keep the environment performant and maintainable.
  • Evaluate, install, configure, and manage Atlassian Marketplace apps; rationalize the app footprint over time.
  • Plan and execute migrations, version upgrades, and platform changes with minimal disruption to end users.
  • Build automation using Jira Automation, ScriptRunner, or similar tooling to eliminate manual work and enforce process consistency.
  • Provide tier-2/3 support, troubleshooting, and escalation handling for Atlassian-related issues.
  • Partner with engineering, PMO, IT, and business teams to gather requirements and translate them into well-architected Atlassian solutions.
  • Develop and maintain clear admin documentation, end-user training materials, and runbooks.

SaaS Application & Integration Management

  • Plan, implement, and manage integrations between the Atlassian suite and other SaaS applications (e.g., Salesforce, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, GitHub, identity providers, etc.).
  • Ensure seamless, secure, and well-governed access to SaaS resources for employees.
  • Partner with application owners to understand integration requirements and provide technical guidance on the right approach (native connectors, API integrations, iPaaS, etc.).
  • Monitor the health, performance, and cost of SaaS integrations; proactively identify drift, failures, and optimization opportunities.
  • Contribute to broader SaaS administration and lifecycle work as part of the systems engineering team.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and enforce security best practices across the Atlassian suite, including SSO/SCIM configuration, permission models, data classification, and audit logging.
  • Participate in security audits, access reviews, and compliance initiatives (e.g., SOC 2) as they relate to managed systems.
  • Identify and mitigate potential security risks and vulnerabilities within the environment, partnering with the Security team on remediation.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with other IT teams (Security, Networking, Applications, Engineering) to ensure smooth, coordinated operation of systems.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding system changes, outages, roadmap, and project updates.
  • Participate in project planning and execution, providing technical expertise, scoping, and pragmatic guidance.

Problem Solving & Troubleshooting

  • Analyze and resolve complex technical issues across Atlassian, integrated SaaS applications, and (where applicable) underlying cloud infrastructure.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on recurring problems and design durable solutions, not just fixes.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve the systems landscape.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • At least 4 years of deep, hands-on experience administering and scaling the Atlassian product suite (Jira and Confluence) within a growth-oriented environment.
  • Advanced expertise in the design and configuration of Jira and Confluence, specifically around complex workflows, schemes, permissions, automation rules, and capacity reporting.
  • Proven ability to architect and manage integrations between Atlassian and other SaaS ecosystem players using native connectors, APIs, or iPaaS middleware.
  • Solid grasp of systems engineering fundamentals for SaaS, including identity management (SSO/SAML/SCIM), RBAC models, and security auditing.
  • Sharp analytical and troubleshooting instincts; you remain effective when navigating technical ambiguity or resolving high-visibility, cross-team issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements for non-technical stakeholders and partner effectively with engineering teams.
  • A passion for clear documentation and a disciplined approach to creating admin runbooks and user training materials.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize high-impact work independently while contributing to the overall success of the business.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
