We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team and help elevate the guest experience at our restaurant and wine bar.

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic server to join our team. As a Server at Farmstead, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring their dining experience is memorable and enjoyable. You will work in a fast-paced environment in both the restaurant and wine bar, assisting guests with menu selections, taking orders, delivering food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and seat guests in a friendly, professional manner
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the restaurant’s menu and wine list, including any daily or seasonal offerings
  • Provide exceptional service by promptly taking food and beverage orders and answering menu questions
  • Offer recommendations, including upselling wine, cocktails and beverage options
  • Maintain a polished appearance and positive attitude
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly and accurately
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by checking in regularly and addressing any concerns
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including resetting tables and refilling drinks
  • Perform opening and closing procedures, as well as assigned side work
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen, expediter and other staff members to ensure seamless service
  • Collaborate with Chefs to manage special requests, allergies and dietary restrictions
  • Operate the POS system efficiently including orders and payments
  • Uphold Farmstead's high standards of hospitality, food quality, and presentation
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines

Education, Experience and Required Skills:

  • Previous experience as a server in a fine-dining or fast-paced environment required
  • Ability to learn and execute point of sale computer software procedures
  • Food Handler's certification and RBS certification required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to upsell menu items with sincerity and confidence
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality service
  • Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with unexpected situations
  • Must be able to lift, balance, and carry plates of food
  • Must be able to lift cases of wine on a daily basis
  • Must be able to use both hands to handle, grasp, move and control objects, tools and equipment operations
  • Must be able to bend or twist body
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

Compensation and Benefits

  • Part-time hourly position
  • Compensation: $16.50 per hour plus tips
  • Retirement Savings (401k) includes generous company matching
