What you’ll be doing:

A great opportunity for an experienced Mining and Minerals Sales leader to join a dynamic company and lead its growth in the mining industry.  Reporting to the CEO, this position will provide strategic leadership and operations management for a novel mineral processing technology. This position is responsible for determining and executing the operational strategy, goals, and priorities of the business line.

Location: Solon, OH area or The Woodlands, TX preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and facilitate the execution of effective plans and procedures to enter and drive revenue, profitability, and growth in the Mining and Minerals Processing market sector.
  • Mentor a high-performing sales and technical support team, consisting of experienced sales professionals and technical experts in the Mining and Minerals Processing industry
  • Develop an appropriate market penetration strategy for Locus to enter Mining and Minerals Processing market both domestically and internationally.
  • Establish and expand relationships with key industry executives and decision makers within each operational area
  • Understand local market conditions, existing and target customer's business objectives and challenges and focus Locus’s product offerings to meet customer's needs
  • Grow and maintain existing customer relationships through proactive sales activity
  • Accountable for the full business development cycle from opportunity assessment, selection field evaluations through proposal preparation, tender and close.
  • Strong financial/analytical background coupled with an understanding of income statements and business/marketing management.
  • Maintain proactive and open communication with CEO, providing accurate data on the strategy execution

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • An advanced technical Engineering degree (chemical, metallurgical, mechanical, or mining).
  • At least 10 years of demonstrated and progressive experience in mineral processing operations
  • Deep understanding of metal extraction technologies used in industry leaching methodologies
  • Five years’ experience managing an industrial product line with full P&L responsibility
  • Outstanding leadership skills with a competitive desire and passion for succeeding
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications, analytical, and sales skills required
  • Must be able to work under pressure to achieve the expected results in a timely matter.
  • Job conditions are based on an expectation of sales results.

  • Will be required to travel for business purposes for approximately 50-60% of the time.

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and navigate uneven terrain at active mining and industrial sites.
  • Must be able to wear and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
  • May require occasional lifting or carrying of materials or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to work in environments involving dust, noise, vibration, and varying weather conditions.
  • Comfortable with extended periods of sitting (e.g., during travel), as well as standing and walking during on-site visits.

Work Environment:

  • This position splits time between a professional office setting and field-based environments including active mining operations.
  • Field visits may include exposure to loud machinery, heavy equipment, and operational hazards.
  • Office work is generally sedentary and performed in a climate-controlled environment.
  • Travel may involve long flights, remote locations, and variable schedules based on customer and site needs.
  • Must be adaptable to a dynamic environment with competing priorities and high-level business engagement.
