We are seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer with successful track record of continuous process improvement/optimization practices in distribution, warehouses, eCommerce, 3PL type environments. This role ensures that our nationwide sites experience initial and continued top productivity performances achieved by optimizing customers KPIs, processes and designs relative to an automated picking operation. This includes data analysis, knowledge in re-mapping floor plan layouts or specified areas and presenting details of process improvement to key stakeholders including our customers, Operation Managers, and Operation Supervisors. Internal company interaction with Customer Success Managers, Deployment/Integration team members, Robotic Support Engineers and Engineering included.

50% US travel, additional percentage during Peak Season.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed analytical reports on key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement around the Locus Robotics picking operations.
  • Identify and improve linkages between data points. Interpret and transform data into meaningful information that can be acted upon.
  • Use Voice of the Customer as well as onsite direct observations to provide recommendations on processes improvements and optimization to maximize the robots’ efficiency and picking productivity.
  • Work with the internal team to implement such recommendations.
  • Work on post-sales solutions design efforts around locus operation layout design and tote design.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand initial requirements.
  • Work with the customer to identify the best optimal solution from a layout standpoint.
  • Develop or enhance tools and methodology to support the optimization process across multiple customers.
  • Use Voice of the Customer to provide feedback back to engineering around new product features or enhancement of existing ones.
  • Interact with a variety of customers, including 3PLs, retail, e-commerce, automotive and life science.
  • Communicate and present to different customers stakeholders, including corporate executives and site operators.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent: Operations Management, Supply Chain Management/Lean Process Improvement Management.
  • 7+ years of experience in distribution or logistics operations, preferably e-commerce/fulfillment.
  • 5+ years of data analytics experience.
  • Prior experience with automation and solution design ( AMR, Robotics, Conveyors).
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience with AutoCAD for fulfillment center/warehouses.
  • Proficient in developing process flows, fishbone diagrams, and conducting why-why analysis.
  • Attention to details and analytical thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced environments- multiple projects concurrently and prioritize projects to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with multiple customers and stakeholders from different backgrounds and levels.
  • Entrepreneurial, ownership mindset and integrity.
  • Thrives in a “hands-on” role actively engaged in operations management.
  • 50% travel with increase during Peak season.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
