The Production Planner will play a key role in coordinating and optimizing production activities to meet customer demand. You will be responsible for creating production schedules, managing work orders, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth production operations.

This is an onsite role based out of our Wilmington, MA Corporate Headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP): forecasted demand, customer orders, and available resources.
  • Coordinate implementation of all Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) in production.
  • Create, release, and maintain all production work orders.
  • Coordinate with production teams to allocate resources, including labor and materials, to meet production targets.
  • Key participant in S&OP process - gather and analyze data to improve demand forecasting accuracy, Material Requirements Planning (MRP) inputs.
  • Continuously assess and optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Track the progress of production orders, ensuring they are completed on time.
  • Act as a liaison between various departments, including production, procurement, order management and logistics, to ensure coordination and seamless information flow.
  • Monitor production inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, support processes to replenish and prevent shortages and excess.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues that may affect production schedules. Drive root cause analysis and resolution of business-system issues.
  • Generate regular reports on production performance, on-time delivery, and other key metrics for management review.
  • Support implementation of new systems and modules for ERP, PLM, S&OP and MRP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or a related role.
  • Extensive experience utilizing ERP and planning tools (NetSuite preferred).
  • Demonstrated expertise utilizing Product Lifecyle Management (PLM) and experience coordinating ECO implementation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills – proficient with advanced application functions such as pivot tables, lookups, conditional lists, macros, etc.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience working with Contract Manufacturers.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
